Benefits

AmerisourceBergen offers a comprehensive benefit and compensation package, which includes healthcare, life and other insurance; a retirement plan with company match; and an employee stock purchase program. Numerous other benefits include an employee assistance program, tuition assistance (including scholarships for dependents), medical coverage for same-sex partners and domestic partnerships, holidays, and paid time off.  Our medical plan covers fertility services and provides benefits to support the needs of dependents on the autism spectrum. In addition, we offer eight weeks of paid parental leave for both parents and discounts on services such as childcare, eldercare, and tutoring. We offer supportive return-to-work conditions including on-site lactation rooms and flexible work arrangements such as flex hours.  

During COVID-19, we offered enhanced benefits to provide greater access to mental health telemedicine, additional paid time off for those needing to self-quarantine or care for a family member, and access to mindfulness videos and other wellness resources. We also offered financial support through our Associate Assistance Fund for those whose household income was impacted, such as by a spouse experiencing job loss.

Development

Team member development is a strategic priority at AmerisourceBergen, and we are making thoughtful investments to build our talent and culture. In FY20, we partnered with leaders across the company to create a new integrated talent framework aligned to our business strategy and purpose. In FY21, we are introducing to our global team members the new framework, which includes a new leadership competency model, enterprise learning strategy, and modern approach to performance management.  
 
Our new leadership model, which emphasizes people, collaboration, innovation, and purpose, will be introduced to every team member in FY21 through a series of experiential learning programs. Implementation will start with our top 300 leaders and then will be embedded into everything we do, including our hiring, performance management, development, and succession-planning processes. This new model will help us unlock the full potential of our people and build the new skills and behaviors we need to achieve our enterprise strategy.
 
Other tools we offer to grow our teams include leadership and professional development programs and resources, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities to volunteer and participate in mentorship programs and Employee Resource Groups. Many of these programs and key areas of focus are shaped by responses to our myVoice employee engagement survey that we field every other year (our next survey is planned for 2021).

Safety

Our relentless focus on team member safety is ingrained in everything we do, including committing millions of dollars annually to update or replace outdated buildings and equipment. Distribution Center (DC) jobs are designed, monitored, and measured with safety and efficiency top of mind. We convene our National Safety Committee to review and evaluate data to prevent future accidents and issue operational excellence scorecards. We also utilize a peer-to-peer safety program. It is our practice that distribution center team members receive training on proper safety procedures and incentive opportunities, with safety performance tracked and shared across the organization.
